RECOMMENDED ACTION:

                     Discuss vision and park priorities.

ITEM SUMMARY:

A critical component of the update to the master plan is establishing priorities for our parks system.  Many of the priorities of the current master plan have been completed or are in the process of being completed, thus discussion is needed on new priority rankings.

This discussion is timely as it also coincides with the planning of our 5-year CIP budget planning process.

The consultant team from Dunaway Associates will begin by providing an overview of the master planning process as well as leading the discussion on priorities and rankings for our parks system.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

Dunaway Associates was awarded a contract in December of last year to provide an update to our master plan and trails plan.

Our current master plan was adopted in 2017, which means work began on the plan in late 2015.  Typically master plans in fast growing cities are updated every 3-5 years.
