                     Approval of Resolution.

ITEM SUMMARY:

This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a supplemental agreement with Professional Service Industries, Inc. (PSI) to provide additional materials testing services for the construction of the Accessibility Improvements Eastside Phase I Project (ST1649) for an increase in the contract amount from $49,900 to $56,980 and authorizing all necessary supplemental agreements under said contract up to an aggregate contract amount, inclusive of any additional supplemental agreements, not to exceed $66,000.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

Professional Service Industries, Inc. (PSI) is currently under contract with the City for materials testing services related to the Accessibility Improvements Eastside Phase I Project (ST1649) currently under construction.

Construction began in June 2019 and is expected to be completed by September 2020.

The initial budget estimate was developed based on assumptions made of required testing to complete the project.

As construction on the project has progressed, additional testing services have been requested due to an increased quantity of pavement replacement throughout the project. Additionally, adjusted phasing of construction has led to an increased quantity of testing needs. Professional Service Industries, Inc. (PSI) has only performed observation and testing when scheduled and /or required by the City.

Professional Service Industries, Inc. (PSI) submitted an estimate of $7,080 for these additional services to complete the required testing needs for the project.

FINANCIAL SUMMARY:

This Resolution authorizes a supplemental agreement with Professional Service Industries, Inc. (PSI) for an increase in the contract amount by $7,080.00, from $49,900.00 to a total aggregate contract amount of $56,980.00.

Staff is requesting approval of a not to exceed (NTE) amount of $66,000 in the event minor additional materials testing services are required during the remainder of the construction.

Funding for this supplemental agreement is included in the Capital Improvements Program (ST1649).

With the approval of this item, $5,366.17 will remain in ST1649.
