RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Resolution authorizes a supplemental agreement with Jacobs Engineering Inc. to provide additional professional engineering services for the design of the Virginia Pkwy Lanes 5 & 6 from Custer Rd to Virginia Parklands Blvd for an increase in the not to exceed fee by $90,000 (from $310,000) for a total aggregate contract amount, inclusive of any additional supplemental agreements, not to exceed $400,000.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* Jacobs Engineering Inc. is currently under contract with the City for design services related to the Virginia Pkwy Lanes 5 & 6 from Custer Rd to Virginia Parklands Blvd.
* The design for the project is currently 90% complete and has been underway since February 2019. Construction of the planned improvements is expected to occur as soon as March 2021.
* As detailed design has progressed, the following additional services have been requested by the Engineering Department which were not originally included in current Jacobs Engineering Inc.'s contract:
o Addition of three new dedicated right turn lanes at Cranberry Ln., Virginia Parklands Blvd., and St. Gabriel Way including survey at each roadway, and modifications to the plans to reflect the changes throughout.
