RECOMMENDED PARK BOARD ACTION:
• Approval of the Recommendation.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• This agenda item will authorize a professional services contract with Kimley - Horn and Associates, Inc., to provide landscape architectural services related to the design of the Al Ruschhaupt Phase 1 Restroom Renovations in a contract amount of $118,400 and not to exceed $148,400.
• A contingency of $30,000 allows for the option to develop construction documents for additional pavilions and plaza area.
• The Al Ruschhaupt Phase 1 Restroom Renovations will include recommendations for placement of a new restroom facility and updated site plantings.
• Scope of Services:
o Basic Design Services $ 118,400.00
o Contingency $ 30,000.00
Total $ 148,400.00
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• Kimley - Horn and Associates were selected from a list of pre-qualified landscape architectural firms that Council approved on June 18, 2019.
• The 96 acre park was originally developed in two phases, consisting of five soccer fields, multi - use fields for cricket, football, and lacrosse, hike and bike trails, two concession / restroom facilities, picnic shelter, splash pad, amphitheater, playgrounds, 2 parking lots.
• Al Ruschhaupt Park is located at 1986 Park View Ave. in McKinney, TX
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• Al Ruschhaupt Phase I Restroom Renovations (PK4392) is a FY19-20 Capital Improvements Program funded by MCDC and Bond funds in an amount of $1,000,000. The final budget is to be determined through this master plan process.
• The Resolution will authorize a professional services contract for landscape architectural and engineering services, with Kimley - Horn and Associates, Inc. in an amount of $118,400 and not to exceed $148,400.
