RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Receive a preview of the newly developed Housing Hub online resource.
ITEM SUMMARY:
* Staff is excited to present a preview of a new, online tool that can be used by city leaders, the development community, and residents to learn more about existing and potential future residential developments in McKinney.
* This new tool, known as the Housing Hub, is comprised of a series of dashboards/maps; each focusing on a different aspect of residential development in McKinney. They are:
(1) Existing Residential Housing. This dashboard shows existing residential developments in the city and is based on property records from the Collin Central Appraisal District.
(2) Residential Construction Activity. This dashboard shows where residential development is currently under construction and is based on building permit data from the City of McKinney.
(3) Undeveloped Residential Zoning. This dashboard shows where existing zoning entitlements allow residential uses on properties currently undeveloped.
(4) Residential Vision and the Comprehensive Plan. The last two dashboards in the Residential Development Gallery dive into the residential vision established in the ONE McKinney 2040 Comprehensive Plan.
* Each dashboard includes a variety of information and filter capabilities for things like location, residential product type(s), and estimated value. You can also search by Council District.
