This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a supplemental agreement with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. to provide additional professional services related to the Trinity Falls Parkway Link Connection (CIP Project ST4422) for an increase in the contract amount from $86,000 to $95,500

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. is currently under contract with the City for professional services related to the Trinity Falls Parkway Link Connection (CIP Project ST4422).

The project, which has been under construction since January 2019 and is nearing completion, is included in an Interlocal Agreement previously executed with Johnson Development/Trinity Falls whereas the City is reimbursing the developer 100% of the costs associated with construction of Lanes 3 & 4 for a portion of Trinity Falls Parkway north of Laud Howell Parkway.

Based on the construction contract language included in the project, the City is responsible for costs associated with construction staking. Construction staking includes construction surveying and placing of physical stakes along the project in accordance with the approved design plans.

The original design contract with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. approved in 2015 did not anticipate the need for construction staking which is typically provided at the contractor’s expense for standard city-bid construction projects.

The project contractor (Mario Sinacola) utilized the services of the project design engineer (Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc.) for all construction staking services required for the Trinity Falls Parkway Link Connection.

Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. has submitted a supplemental agreement for these services in the amount of $9,500.00.

FINANCIAL SUMMARY:

This Resolution authorizes a supplemental agreement with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc for an increase in the contract amount by $9,500.00, from $86,000.00 to a total aggregate contract amount of $95,500.00.

Funding for this supplemental agreement is included in the Capital Improvements Program (ST4422).

With the approval of this item, $61,335.30 will remain in ST4422.
