RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Approval of the Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a Change Order to the existing Professional Services Agreement for additional owner’s representation services related to Old Settler’s Recreation Center Renovation - (OSRC) PK4398 and the Senior Recreation Center Renovation - (SRCR) PK4394 projects in McKinney, Texas.
• As requested, Spinelli Construction Services submitted a proposal to provide additional professional owner’s representation services for the PK4398 and PK4394 projects for an additional fee of $48,200 which will be divided equally among the two projects.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• Spinelli Construction Services is a professional consulting firm based in Dallas, Texas. Brenda Spinelli, CD, LEED AP BD+C is president of SCS. Spinelli, while a Senior Vice President of Aguirre Roden, a former full service architectural, engineering and construction firm, performed these same types of services for the City of McKinney for several years and different types of projects.
• On February 25, 2020, the City Manager executed a contract with Spinelli Construction Services for professional owner’s representation and project management services for multiple capital improvement projects.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• The Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a Change Order for additional services to the existing contract for additional professional consulting services and owner’s representation services, including potential changes to the scope of services, with Spinelli Construction Services for an additional fee of $48,200, increasing the current contract amount to a not to exceed amount of $96,400.
• With the approval of this item, $144,843.51 will remain in PK4394.
• With the approval of this item, $238,094.95 will remain in PK4398.
