ITEM SUMMARY:
• Mollie Fitzpatrick of Root Policy Research will present the final draft of the Housing Needs Assessment, along with examples of housing “best practices”.
• The Housing Needs Assessment will provide the information necessary for future City Council housing policy decisions.
• A resolution accepting the Needs Assessment as a component of a ‘Global Housing Strategy’ is on the 9/15 regular Council agenda for review.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• On July 21, 2020, Root Policy presented a draft of the Housing Needs Assessment to City Council.
• The Housing Needs Assessment was finalized based on City Council direction.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• The cost of the study was $55,000 and was budgeted in the FY20 Housing and Community Development Fund.
