RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of Resolution.

ITEM SUMMARY:
* This item is for approval for the City Manager to execute an interlocal cooperation agreement between the North Central Texas Council of Governments and the City of McKinney, Texas for the Implementation of a Minor Intersection Improvement Program (MIIP) and accepts funding from the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG).
* NCTCOG awarded the City of McKinney the MIIP for the replacement of 28 traffic signal controllers along US380 and Custer Road.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* The Minor Intersection Improvement Program (MIIP) is a regional program that is implemented by NCTCOG in partnership with local agencies that improves the capacity of the existing roadway system by implementing low-cost operational improvements, thereby enhancing mobility and improving air quality.
* The proposed project submittal for the Minor Intersection Improvements Program Call for Projects for McKinney is the replacement of traffic signal controllers at all of the City's 82 traffic signals.
* NCTCOG awarded the City of McKinney the MIIP for the replacement of 28 signals along US380 and Custer Road.
* The estimated cost for the project is $88,400. State and Federal is funding up to $50,000 and the City of McKinney is responsible for $38,400.
