RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:                     

                     Approval of the Resolution.

 

ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     This Resolution establishes a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) of $5,937,745 as proposed by Pogue Construction Company, LP (Pogue).

                     This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a contract amendment with Pogue Construction Company, LP (Pogue), the Construction Manager at Risk for the Public Safety Building Phase 5 Expansion and Renovation Project located at 2200 Taylor Burk Drive, McKinney, Texas 75071.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     The original agreement for pre-construction services allowed for the GMP to be proposed after the completion of the design plans and bidding process.

                     The construction documents were issued and advertised for bids by Pogue who received and compiled those bids and has now submitted a final version of the Guaranteed Maximum Price for approval.

                     With this approval, Pogue will be notified to begin construction with completion scheduled for December 2021.

                     Pogue Construction Company, LP has successfully completed multiple City of McKinney projects, including the original Public Safety Building, the Public Safety Support Building, the recently completed Public Safety Building Retrofit as well as a variety of civic facility projects for McKinney and other municipalities.

 

FINANCIAL SUMMARY: 

                     The Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a contract amendment to the existing Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) services contract with Pogue Construction Company, LP in an amount not to exceed $5,937,745.

                     The Public Safety Building Phase 5 Expansion and Renovation Project (FC1729) was funded within the FY21-25 Capital Improvements Program with general obligation bonds and funds are currently available for this contract.

                     Upon approval of this item, $357,769.07 will remain in FC1729.
