RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION: Approve Ordinance certifying the election results for the November 3, 2020 Special Election.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• An election was held on November 3, 2020 for qualified resident voters of the City to vote at said election for the following:
o whether a member of the McKinney City Council (La’Shadion Shemwell, District 1) shall be removed from or remain in office; and
o whether the City of McKinney, through its City Council, shall be authorized to sell certain park property, being 55.234 acres of land located approximately 0.6 miles east of State Highway 5 on Harry McKillop Blvd. and 0.25 miles south on Couch Drive, in the F.T. Duffau Survey, Abstract No. 287, McKinney, Collin County, Texas.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The election canvass is conducted in accordance with Texas Election Code Chapter 67.
The final results are the certified numbers provided after the ballot board met to count overseas and provisional ballots.
