RECOMMENDED PARK BOARD ACTION:
• Approval of the Recommendation.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• Staff reviewed the priorities/needs/costs among the various master plans that have recently been completed and selected Murphy Park and Mary Will Craig Park as the first to move into design development for construction.
• Dunaway Associates completed the master plans and opinion of probable construction costs for Murphy Park and Mary Will Craig Park in October 2020.
• Based upon their master plan design and quality of work, Dunaway is requested to provide design and construction administration service for Murphy Park and Mary Will Craig Park.
• This agenda item will authorize a professional services contract with Dunaway Associates, L.P., to provide landscape architectural and engineering services to renovate Murphy Park and Mary Will Craig Park in a contract amount of $392,395 and to not exceed $407,000.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• Murphy Park - 1601 W. Josephine. Built in the early 1950’s and renovated in the early 1990’s.
• Mary Will Craig - 2701 Bois D’Arc Road. Built in 1998.
• Dunaway Associates was selected from a list of pre-qualified landscape architectural firms that Council approved on June 18, 2019.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• The Park Renovations (PK1831) is a FY19-20 Capital Improvements Program funded by MCDC funds, Parkland Dedication, and voter authorized Bonds in an amount of $6,204,583.
• Upon approval of this item, $5,461,078 will remain in PK1831.
