RECOMMENDED PARK BOARD ACTION:
• Approval of the Recommendation.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• DCBA Landscape Architecture recently completed the master plan for this park, which is attached. Based upon their master plan design and quality of work, they were requested to provide design and construction administration services for the completion of the project.
• During the master planning process, which consisted of public input via an online survey, a master plan was developed that provides the park with amenities such as:
o Water fountain/splash pad feature
o Play structure
o Pavilion
o Walking paths with work-out stations
o Basketball court
o Pedestrian Bridge
• This agenda item will authorize a professional services contract with DCBA Landscape Architecture, to provide landscape architectural and engineering services related to the design and construction of the Robinson Ridge Neighborhood Park project in a contract amount of $135,096 and not to exceed $ 142,096.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• DCBA was selected from a list of pre-qualified landscape architectural firms that Council approved on June 18, 2019.
• The land was acquired in satisfaction of parkland dedication for the Robinson Ridge Subdivision in 2016.
• This park is located within the Robinson Ridge subdivision which is bounded by Muscadine Dr. on the west, Maplewood Dr on the east, and existing single family residential to the north and south.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• The Robinson Ridge Neighborhood Park Project (PK1830) is a FY20-21 Capital Improvements Program funded by Parkland Dedication Monies in an amount of $2,000,000.
• Upon approval of this item, $1,815,499 will remain in PK1830.
