The temporary single lane closure will begin approximately thirty minutes before the special event starts for the day and the lane will be reopened to traffic at the conclusion of the event.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

Craig Ranch Fitness and Spa submitted an application for a special event permit with the City of McKinney for a Sprint Triathlon on May 27, 2021.

The bicycle course of the triathlon begins and ends at Craig Ranch Fitness with a portion of the race course on northbound Custer Road between Collin McKinney Parkway and Stacy Road.

This is the same race route Craig Ranch Fitness has used for previous triathlons.

Per Ordinance 2018-12-089, Custer Road (FM 2478) may be utilized twice per year in conjunction with a triathlon.

A temporary closure along state right of way requires an agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).

FINANCIAL SUMMARY:

The Event Organizer will be responsible for securing and any labor to install the traffic control devices necessary for the special event as this specified race route is an Independent Route.
