RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of Resolution

ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to enter into a reimbursement agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to furnish traffic signal detection equipment for twenty intersections on University Dr. (US 380) from N. Stonebridge Dr. to Airport Dr.
* The TxDOT will reimburse the City 100% for the cost to purchase the traffic signal equipment up to $606,863 for this detection upgrade project.
* This project is on schedule to be let by TxDOT on May 2021.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* A concurrent Ordinance authorizes the City Manager to amend expenditures in the 2020-2021 Budget and the 2021-2025 Capital Improvements Program (CIP) to accept funds from the TxDOT in the amount of $606,863 and appropriating those funds into TR2023, Traffic Signal Detection Upgrades project.

* This Ordinance amends the 2020-2021 Budget and the 2021-2025 CIP to fund the upfront acquisition of the traffic signal equipment.

FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
* The cost associated with the purchase of the traffic signal equipment will be reimbursed by TxDOT at the completion of the project.
