RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:                     

                     Approval of Resolution

 

ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a contract in the amount of $140,500, as well as all required supplemental agreements thereto, with Kimley-Horn for professional consulting engineering services for the 2021 Citywide Traffic Count Program, for a total aggregate contract amount, inclusive of any supplemental agreements, not to exceed $152,000.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     The City of McKinney produces a Citywide traffic count map on a biennial schedule.  The development of this map requires the collection of traffic data, data processing and verification, and the population of data tables for import into the City’s GIS system. 

                     The City-wide Traffic Count Program will obtain 24-hour traffic count data for up to 365 locations along arterial roadways and neighborhood collector roadways. This program will also include classification counts in 12 locations along these same roadways.    

                     Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. was one of ten firms selected as part of 21-19RFQ - On-Call Traffic Engineering Services that was approved by City Council on February 2, 2021.

 

FINANCIAL SUMMARY: 

                     This Resolution authorizes a contract with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. for an amount not to exceed of $152,000.

                     Funds for the City-wide Traffic Count Program are available in the operating budget of the Engineering Budget, Traffic Control section ($152,000).
