RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:                     

                     Approval of a Resolution

 

ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     The City of McKinney provides School Resource Officers (SRO) to the Frisco Independent School District (FISD).

                     There will be two (2) SROs assigned to FISD.

                     The cost of the SROs is shared 50% to both FISD and the City of McKinney.

                     The cost of two (2) fully equipped police pursuit vehicles is shared 50% to both MISD and the City of McKinney.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     The prior contract, approved by Council on December 4, 2018, provided for 50% cost sharing of one (1) SRO.

                     An additional (1) SRO has been added to provide services to the FISD high school. The second SRO will provide services to seven (7) middle schools.

 

FINANCIAL SUMMARY: 

                     FISD will pay the contract amount of $134,177 for the 2021-2022 School Resource Officer Program.
