RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Approval of a Resolution
ITEM SUMMARY:
• The City of McKinney provides School Resource Officers (SRO) to the Frisco Independent School District (FISD).
• There will be two (2) SROs assigned to FISD.
• The cost of the SROs is shared 50% to both FISD and the City of McKinney.
• The cost of two (2) fully equipped police pursuit vehicles is shared 50% to both MISD and the City of McKinney.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The prior contract, approved by Council on December 4, 2018, provided for 50% cost sharing of one (1) SRO.
• An additional (1) SRO has been added to provide services to the FISD high school. The second SRO will provide services to seven (7) middle schools.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• FISD will pay the contract amount of $134,177 for the 2021-2022 School Resource Officer Program.
