RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of Resolution to accept and implement the grant award to fund purchase of equipment for a PWERT Incident Traffic Control Trailer

ITEM SUMMARY:
* The SHSP focus is to support state and local efforts to prevent terrorism and targeted violence and to prepare for the threats and hazards that pose the greatest risk to the security of Texas citizens.
* This project will fund an Incident Traffic Control Trailer that can be deployed in response to any terrorism incident or attack. This trailer will provide direct support for all special response teams requiring perimeter and traffic control devices including barricades and portable sign stands.
* This equipment is a critical need before, during, and after a possible terrorism incident requiring the closure of multiple roadways to secure an area.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* The North Central Texas Public Works Emergency Response Team (PWERT) is comprised of 72 member jurisdictions that was created to provide public works assistance when an emergency or disaster overwhelms local resources.
