ITEM SUMMARY:

This Resolution authorizes the execution of an Agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) for the temporary closure of the westbound north lane of SH 121 Frontage Road between Alma Road to Craig Ranch Parkway/ Exchange Parkway for the special event of the 2022 AT&T Byron Nelson.

The temporary single lane closure will begin approximately thirty minutes before the special event starts for the day on May 11, 2022, and the lane will be reopened to traffic at the conclusion of the event.

The temporary lane closure is estimated to extend for five (5) days.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

TCP Craig Ranch submitted an application for a special event permit with the City of McKinney for the 2022 AT&T Byron Nelson starting on May 11, 2022 and ending May 15, 2022.

With the event at the TCP Craig Ranch course, the right lane closure on westbound SH 121 Frontage Road will ensure there is a dedicated right turn lane and acceleration lane for those entering/exiting the event from SH 121.

A temporary closure along state right of way requires an agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).

FINANCIAL SUMMARY:

The Event Organizer will be responsible for securing and any labor to install the traffic control devices necessary for the special event.
