RECOMMENDED ACTION:                     

                     Recommend that City Council approve a resolution for construction.

 

ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     This project will consist of a climbing boulder themed play structure, splash pad, basketball court, pickleball court, pavilions, open space, parking, and pedestrian trail connectivity.

 

                     City staff worked with LJA Engineering (formally DCBA) on preparing the construction plans and specifications as needed for project bidding. On August 18th, the City of McKinney will receive bids for this project.

 

                     Action on this item authorizes staff to move forward with the contractor selection process and allow a recommendation to go to City Council on September 6th. Staff will provide an update at the following Board meeting.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     The 15-acre park tract was acquired in satisfaction of parkland dedication for the Robinson Ridge Subdivision in 2016.

 

                     This park is bounded by Muscadine Dr. on the west, Maplewood Dr on the east, and existing single family residential to the north and south.

 

 

FINANCIAL SUMMARY: 

                     This project (PK1830) is a FY21-22 Capital Improvements Program funded by Parkland Dedication Funds Zone 1.
