ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a contract in the amount of $171,900 with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. to provide consulting engineering services for the Wayfinding Implementation and authorizing all necessary change orders under said contract up to an aggregate contract amount, inclusive of any change orders, not to exceed $190,000.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* The Citywide Wayfinding Master Plan was kicked off in January 2021 and is anticipated to be finalized by December 2022.
* The City plans to install the 144 proposed wayfinding signs in two phases.
??Phase 1: Includes signs for Historic Downtown, McKinney 121 District, and welcome signs. Phase one includes 87 signs to be installed in year 2023.
??Phase 2: Includes the remaining signs identified in the master plan. Phase two includes 57 signs to be installed in year 2024.
* The scope of services in this contract includes the following key tasks.
??Sign and sealed plans for the foundation design,
??Pedestrian kiosk information panel development including the map and interpretive artwork,
??Bid phase services,
??Construction phase services, and
??TxDOT coordination.
