• Receive staff’s presentation.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• The City of McKinney is currently constructing a new City Hall building located on the northwest corner of Virginia Street and Throckmorton Street. This new facility is tentatively scheduled to open to the public in late 2024 or early 2025. When the facility opens, it will be home to several city departments and will consolidate operations spanning almost ten locations into a single building. Doing so will leave current facilities vacant or otherwise underutilized including those located downtown.
• McKinney’s current City Hall, Development Services Building, and adjacent public parking lots will become vacant and underutilized when public operations relocate. Staff is seeking City Council input regarding its desired plans for these properties.
