RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Approval of Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a contract in the amount of $257,675, as well as all required supplemental agreements thereto, with Freese and Nichols, Inc. for professional consulting engineering services for the Virginia Hills Lift Station Abandonment (WW2433), Creek Hollow Lift Station Improvements (WW2434), Erwin Farms Lift Station Abandonment (WW2435), and Sloan Creek Lift Station Improvements (WW2436), for a total aggregate contract amount, inclusive of any supplemental agreements, not to exceed $285,000.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• City of McKinney has identified 2 lift stations needing to be abandoned and 2 lift stations needing improvements. The name of the lift stations and locations are as follows:
o Lift Station to be Abandoned - Virginia Hills: 1397 Monticello Drive, McKinney TX 75071
o Lift Station to be Abandoned - Erwin Farms: 3031 Erwin Farms Blvd, McKinney TX 75071
o Lift Station to be Improved - Sloan Creek: 4440 State Hwy 121 S, McKinney TX 75070
o Lift Station to be Improved - Creek Hollow: 2405 Avalon Creek Way, McKinney TX 75071
• Freese and Nichols, Inc. submitted a proposal for this project in the amount of $257,675.
• The preliminary opinion of probable construction cost for improving and demolishing lift stations $977,120.
• Freese and Nichols, Inc. submitted a response to 21-42 RFQ for on - call utility design services.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• This resolution authorizes a design contract and any necessary supplemental agreements with Freese and Nichols, Inc for an amount not to exceed $285,000.
• With the approval of this item, following amounts remain with projects below:
o WW2433 available Fund 20 (Utlity): $ 185,750.00
o WW2434 available Fund 20 (Utlity): $ 527,450.00
o WW2435 available Fund 20 (Utlity): $ 177,200.00
o WW2436 available Fund 20 (Utlity): $ 1,374,600.00
