• This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a change order to the professional services agreement with Alliance Geotechnical Group, Inc. to provide Construction Materials Testing services related to the McKinney Redbud Pump station Storage Building and Workshop (RBPS) Project.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The Redbud Pump Station Storage Building and Workshop Project (WA2606), located at 3601 Redbud Boulevard, will provide centralized indoor storage for water and wastewater pumps, motors, and other critical equipment currently stored at multiple locations. The facility will protect this equipment from weather and other external elements while improving organization and operational efficiency.
• The project will also provide dedicated workshop space for Water and Wastewater operators to inspect, maintain, and repair pumps and motors. Operators do not currently have a dedicated facility for this work. The building was included in the original Redbud Pump Station site plan but was not constructed at that time due to limited available funding.
• The project includes construction of the storage and workshop building and associated site, utility, electrical, mechanical, and other improvements necessary to support operations. Construction materials testing services will support the construction of these improvements.
• The City of McKinney issued a request for qualifications (RFQ) for miscellaneous geotechnical and materials testing services (24-13RFQ). Of the pool of firms that submitted a statement of qualifications, Alliance was one of the six (6) firms which were determined to be the most qualified in the selection.
• Alliance has successfully completed multiple City of McKinney projects and thousands of successful projects with other entities.
