ITEM SUMMARY:
• This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute an advance Funding Agreement (AFA) in the amount of $2,000,000 for Regional Toll Revenue (RTR) SH 121 subaccount funds participation in Transportation Improvement Projects with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) for the construction of turn lanes and necessary off-site improvements for the Mckinney Sunset Amphitheatre project (CIP Projects ST2514).
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The Sunset Amphitheater, a 20,000-seat state-of-the-art entertainment venue, is currently under construction in the southwest corner of Marketplace Dr and Medical Center Dr in McKinney, TX.
• To accommodate the anticipated traffic impacts generated by the amphitheater, off-site improvements are required
• The planned improvements consist of turn lanes, sidewalks, and crosswalks, as well as the installation of dynamic lane control assemblies to facilitate intersection improvements and traffic flow.
• The project area encompasses the US 75 Frontage Road, extending from Gateway Boulevard to Market Place Drive, and from Medical Center Drive to SS 399, including the segment near Eldorado Parkway.
• The project has been selected by the Regional Transportation Council (RTC) for funding from the SH 121 Subaccount.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• This Resolution authorizes an Advanced Funding Agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) in the amount of $2,000,000.
• Funding for this agreement is included in the Capital Improvements Program (ST2514).
With the approval of this item $9,995,734 will remain in ST2514.
