RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Approval of the Ordinance.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• This Ordinance will:
• Add a loading zone space on the west side of Chestnut Street, approximately 110 feet south of Louisiana Street.
• Add two loading zone spaces on the north side of the public parking lot along Cloyd Street between Johnson Street and Chestnut Street, east of Johnson Street.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• Engineering Staff and Main Street Staff worked with the Downtown property owners and merchants to review possible locations for proposed loading zone spaces and to determine the number of spaces desired along these sections of Chestnut Street and Cloyd Street.
• The consensus from the Downtown property owners and merchants was three parking spaces would need to be designated as loading zone spaces in this area.
• One loading zone space would be designated on the west side of Chestnut Street in front of Guava Tree Café located at 104 South Chestnut Street.
• Urban Grill Restaurant located at 218 East Louisiana Street will be utilizing two loading zone spaces designated on the north side of the public parking lot along Cloyd Street between Johnson Street and Chestnut Street, east of Johnson Street.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• The modification of the signage and markings for the loading zone spaces is available in the operating budget of the Engineering Department.
