ITEM SUMMARY:  
 
McKinney Performing Arts Center Update:
·      Implementation of MPAC Guest Service Program through Experience Works creating an inviting and informational welcome as guests enter the building.  (Valarie works 30 hours per week and is paid through a state grant from the Texas Workforce Commission).
·      Enhancement of overall MPAC atmosphere and customer experience by implementing hanging art program, furniture, new cushions for the Courtroom Theater, new outdoor banner program and outdoor music played on a regular basis.
·      Increased overall media exposure and awareness of the facility through press releases, Facebook and media calls.
·      First Annual Juried Art Show Program set to launch on May 11, 2012 along with exhibit in the Gallery from May 14-22.
·      Increased awareness of what MPAC offers as a facility through the Historic Commercial District by hosting monthly Main Street Business meetings and Main Street Board meetings.
·      Coordination of MPAC Marquee Outdoor LED Signage by working in tandem with the THC, MCDC and city staff.
·      Increased facility hours of operation from being closed on city holidays to now being open 365 days per year.
·      Continue to work closely with community partners such as MRT/YAG and McKinney Community Band to promote theater events and performances at MPAC.
·      This year MPAC will offer more than 30 education and artistic classes along with 27 Summer Camp opportunities to the community (with many of these classes taking place multiple times per week).
·      Continue to present local, regional, national and international artists and entertainment throughout the year.
o      Rocky Horror Picture Show (409 attendees /$4,220 revenue)
o      Gary Morris (397 attendees / $10,738 revenue)
o      Charlotte Martin (176 attendees / $1,150 revenue)
o      Collin Raye (405 attendees / $11,129 revenue)
·      Finalizing logistics for  MPAC's first annual 2012 New Year's Eve Casino Bash.
·      Currently finalizing a revised and updated client friendly "Build Your Own Wedding Packages" program to be rolled out by summer 2012 based on the positive response received from the second annual MPAC bridal show.
·      Increase in City/County MPAC facility use for meetings, seminars and night court resulting in increased awareness, continued support and return visitors.  
 
 
McKinney Main Street Update:
·      This year McKinney Main Street (in conjunction with the help of many) will plan, coordinate, fundraise and implement a total of 9 events in Historic Downtown McKinney (4 primary and 5 secondary) in addition to the support and promotion of our monthly Second Saturday events in Historic Downtown McKinney.
·      By the end of the budget year, we are on track to raise over $365,000 in private sponsorships and donations for downtown events and activities.
·      Our website, downtownmckinney.com continues to rank in the top 5 most visited pages through the City of McKinney web reports.
·      Business Monthly Meetings with downtown merchants have increased in attendance by 25% since relocating our meetings to MPAC, along with our monthly board meetings.
·      Currently in the process of launching a QR code Historic Walking Tour for visitors to engage and learn more about our historic buildings and hometown heritage.
·      Finalizing our downtown directional signage strategy (store sign up is still in progress)
·      Continue to focus on downtown image campaign aka "Decorating Downtown" (i.e. incorporation of fall tractors and décor for family photos surrounding MPAC, banners, etc.), We are currently working to incorporate a spring/summer theme with the use of 3-D paintings and photo opportunities around MPAC.
·      We continue to host downtown site visits for cities to hear about McKinney Main Street's best practices and how we balance between public and private allies.  
·      Continue to meet with merchants one-on-one to discuss business opportunities along with communicating downtown information by acting as a liaison between the City of McKinney and the merchants.
·      We consistently focus on the four point approach through the National Main Street Program (Promotion, Design, Organization and Economic Development) as required to maintain both State and National accreditation as a Main Street City.
·      We continue to partner with many organizations, and city departments to collaborate and partner on events, projects and marketing when possible.
