RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION: The City Council directed that 30% of MCDC revenues be allocated towards park improvements and expansion. MCDC board recommended approval on this application at the November 18, 2009 board meeting.
ITEM SUMMARY:
· The requested funds are for expenses related to park improvement and expansion
The projects that the City request funds for are as follows:
1. Development of Bonnie Wenk Park - $1,310,000
2. Wilson Creek Land Acquisition and Development - $500,000
3. Veterans Memorial Park construction - $200,000
4. Shade structures for baseball spectator seating at Gabe Nesbitt Community Park - $325,000
5. Shade structures for baseball spectator seating at Mouzon field at Old Settler's Park - $30,000
6. Shade structures for baseball dugouts at Mouzon field at Old Settler's Park - $75,000

· MCDC has funded applications submitted by the City of McKinney for the last four years in the following amounts:

FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
· Funding would come from the 30% Park allocation for the fiscal year 2009-2010 which is projected to be $2,440,000 based upon revenues of $8,100,000.
