ITEM SUMMARY:
• This item authorizes the sale, at fair market value, of approximately 0.33 Acres of land to Catholic Charities of Dallas for use in the McKinney Neighbor HUB Project (the “Project”) and further authorizes the City Manager to execute the necessary deed and documents for the sale of said property.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• Catholic Charities of Dallas is currently planning for the construction of the Project and acquiring property necessary for the Project. Construction is anticipated to begin in late 2026.
• Catholic Charities of Dallas finds it necessary to acquire a parcel of City-owned land for use in the Project which is identified in the Resolution as Exhibit A.
• Catholic Charities of Dallas submitted an appraisal for the parcel and extended an offer in the full amount of the appraised fair market value to purchase from the City.
• The total purchase price for the parcel is $60,500.00.
• This agenda item authorizes the sale of the parcel of land as described and depicted in the Resolution as Exhibit A to Catholic Charities of Dallas for the fair market value identified above, and further authorizes the City Manager to execute all documents necessary to the sale of said City-Owned land to Catholic Charities of Dallas associated with the construction of the McKinney Neighbor HUB Project.
• Texas Local Government Code Section 272.001(b) and (c) authorizes a city to convey certain property to an adjacent landowner.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• Funding from the sale will be placed in the respective Capital Project Fund from which the land was originally acquired.
