RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:                     

                     Approval of the attached Ordinance.

 

ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     This ordinance will amend the following expenditures in the FY2025-2026 Annual CIP Budget and the 2026-2030 Capital Improvements Program by appropriating $1,531,159 from the Parkland/Median Fund balance and transferring it to the Parks Construction Fund for multiple Capital Improvement Projects:

 

o                     $37,500 of Parkland Dedication Old Zone 1 funds and $115,489 of Parkland Dedication New Zone 1 funds for the Erwin Park Improvements Project, PK9143.

 

o                     $700,000 of Parkland Dedication New Zone 2 funds for the Jim Ledbetter Park Project, PK2506.

 

o                     $678,170 from Parkland Dedication Old Zone 4 funds for the Wattley Park Project, PK1831.

 

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     This request will allow the construction of Erwin Park improvements which include the removal of the existing restrooms and pavilions, the construction of underground utilities to new restroom and shower facilities, a maintenance building, new pavilions, an overlook structure, an enhanced park entry, concrete-paved parking lots, road resurfacing, a concrete looped hike and bike trail, and campsite utilities.

 

                     An accompanying Resolution for a construction contract is also on this agenda for Council’s consideration.

 

                     The funds will also allow upcoming improvements to Jim Ledbetter Park and Wattley Park that are expected to commence soon.

 

FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
