RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Approval of the Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• This resolution authorizes a supplemental agreement with Dunaway Associates for professional planning and engineering services for Wattley Park (PK1831), to increase the original not to exceed contract amount by $18,250 to a total aggregate contract amount, inclusive of any supplemental agreements, not to exceed $227,870.
• This park was fully designed in preparation of bidding in early 2023, however was temporarily put on hold.
• It is now ready for project bidding, however the plans need some minor modifications to match current codes and preferred materials, which necessitated a contract amendment.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• This neighborhood park was originally designed in 2023 and includes play equipment, basketball court, new parking, pavilion, looped trail and open space.
• Dunaway Associates submitted a response to RFQ No. 25-27 for Professional Landscape Architect Services for Parks CIP Projects. Dunaway Associates was one of the ten firms shortlisted by City Council on December 2, 2025, via Resolution No. 2025-12-196 R.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• Wattley Park (PK1831) is a FY25-26 Capital Improvements Program project funded by Bonds and MCDC.
• Upon approval of this item, $2,386,439 remains within the project.
