RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION: Approval of the Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a Professional Services Agreement to provide facilities consultant and owner’s representative services related to the McKinney Public Safety Building Renovation - Phase 6 (Project No. FP2004) located at 2200 Taylor Burk Drive, McKinney, Texas.
• 720 Design, Inc. has submitted a proposal to provide professional consulting services and owner’s representative services for the Public Safety Building Renovation Phase 6 for a few of $140,140.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• 720 Design, Inc. is a professional consulting firm based in Dallas, Texas and has been the Owner’s Representative of record on multiple successful City of McKinney projects.
• On October 15, 2024, the City of McKinney signed a resolution (2024-10-178R) approving pre-qualified firms to provide owner’s representative services to the City of McKinney. 720 Design, Inc. is one of the seven consulting firms chosen to participate in the consulting vendor pool by RFQ 24-68RFQ for Owner’s Representative Project Management Services for Multiple Projects in McKinney.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• The Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a Professional Services Agreement for professional consulting services and owner’s representative services, including potential changes to the scope of services, with 720 Design, Inc. for an amount not to exceed $154,140 which includes $14,000 owner’s contingency.
• Upon approval of this item, $6,042,716 will remain in Project No. FP2004. In addition, approximately $5.3 million in General Obligation bonds are tentatively planned for issuance in summer 2026.
