ITEM SUMMARY:
• This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a change orders with Excel 4 Construction, LLC, for the construction of the Public Works Water/Wastewater Main Improvements (FY24) Project WA2413 & WW2426, for an increasing in the not to exceed fee from $3,845,000 to a total aggregate contract amount, inclusive of any additional supplemental agreements, not to exceed $4,150,000.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• Excel 4 Construction, LLC, is currently under contract with the City for construction services related to the Public Works Water/Wastewater Main Improvements (FY24) Project.
• As construction on the project has progressed, additional construction services have been necessary due to the need to provide fire protection services for some commercial buildings while a temporary waterline is being used when installing new waterlines. There have also been some bid item overruns mainly due to field conditions and also decisions made to increase the areas of coverage for the waterline for both open cut and pipe bursting while implementing construction.
• Excel 4 Construction, LLC submitted an estimate of $365,713.60 for this change order to complete the construction of this project.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• This Resolution authorizes a contract and all necessary change orders with Excel 4 Construction, LLC, for an increase in the not to exceed contract amount from $3,845,000 to a total aggregate contract amount, inclusive of any additional change order, not to exceed $4,150,000.
• Funding for this change order is included in the Capital Improvements Program (WA2413 & WW2426)
o WA2413 $202,825 (66.5%)
o WW2426 $102,175 (33.5%)
• Upon approval of this item, the following balances will remain:
o WA2413 - $1,952,500.42
o WW2426 - $16,206.75
