ITEM SUMMARY:
• The Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute an agreement with Garver, LLC for McKinney National Airport Project AI2250, East Side Development & Infrastructure.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• Resolution No. 2024-02-035, dated February 20, 2024, directed the City Manager to request grant funding from the McKinney Economic Development Corporation and the McKinney Community Development Corporation for the planning, design, and improvement of the east side of McKinney National Airport for future general aviation and/or commercial passenger service purposes.
• On April 16, 2024, the McKinney Economic Development Corporation approved funding for the Airport East Side Development and Infrastructure Project in the amount of $1,781,000.
• On May 23, 2024, The McKinney Community Development Corporation approved funding for the Airport East Side Development and Infrastructure Project in the amount of $3,607,030.
• Ordinance No. 2024-06-040, dated June 4th transferred the total funds ($5,388,030) from the McKinney Economic Development Corporation and the McKinney Community Development Corporation into Project AI2250, East Side Development & Infrastructure.
• Garver, LLC, currently serving as the City’s engineer of record for McKinney National Airport, was selected through a formal Request for Qualifications (RFQ) selection process, and the scope of this project falls within the RFQ criteria.
• The proposed scope of work will include project administration, surveying services, geotechnical services, design services, and bidding services for the construction of the development on the east side of McKinney National Airport.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• Total project design and construction administration costs are not to exceed $5,305,310.
• Upon approval of this item, $82,720 will remain in AI2250.
