ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     McKinney Community Development Corporation will conduct a public hearing on a project grant application submitted by Heritage Guild of Collin County in the amount of $148,500.00 for construction of new restroom facilities at Chestnut Square Heritage Village.

                     Restrooms will be located on the north side of Chestnut Square, adjacent to the Taylor Inn, near existing drainage and sewer lines, minimizing ground disturbance.

                     Design is historically compatible with Heritage Village and ADA compliant.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     The mission of Heritage Guild of Collin County is to celebrate community, preserve history and inspire the future.

                     HGCC was organized more than 40 years ago.

                     HGCC supports Chestnut Square Historic Village - a museum and tourist destination in McKinney offering diverse programs and activities throughout the year.

 

FINANCIAL SUMMARY:

                     Funds allocated for FY26 for Discretionary Project grants total $2,270,416.

                     Heritage Guild of Collin County was awarded a project grant in FY25 in an amount of $25,481 for improvements to correct drainage issues at Chestnut Square.

                     The request is eligible for MCDC consideration under Section 505.152 of the Texas Local Government Code - Projects related to recreational or community facilities.
