RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Approval of the Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a contract in the amount of $178,966, as well as all required supplemental agreements thereto, with Terracon Consultants, Inc. for geotechnical and materials testing services for the construction of the Gabe Nesbitt Park Softball Expansion Project (PK1806), for a total contract amount, inclusive of any supplemental agreements, not to exceed $200,000.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• City Council approved a construction contract for the Gabe Nesbitt Park Softball Expansion Project on October 21, 2025.
• Materials testing services will be required on the project to ensure construction materials used by the contractor meet or exceed City requirements.
• Terracon Consultants submitted a response to 24-13RFQ for On-call Miscellaneous Geotechnical and Materials Testing Services. Terracon was one of six firms shortlisted by City Council on March 5, 2024.
• Terracon Consultants has successfully performed in a similar capacity on numerous City projects.
• Terracon Consultants has submitted a proposal to provide geotechnical and materials testing services in the amount of $178,966 which has been reviewed by staff and is recommended for approval.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• The Resolution authorizes a contract and all necessary supplemental agreements with Terracon Consultants for an amount not to exceed $200,000.
• Funds are available in the Capital Improvements Program Project PK1806.
• With the approval of this item and the accompanying construction contract, $1,451,418.09 will remain in PK1806.
