ITEM SUMMARY:
• This Resolution authorizes a contract with North Rock Construction, LLC. to provide construction services related to the construction of the McKinney Downtown Parking Lot #1 (MDPL-1) located within a portion of the block bound by N. Tennessee St., E. Hunt St., N. Johnson St., and W. Lamar St. and McKinney Downtown Parking Lot #2 (MDPL-2) located within a portion of the block bound by W. Lamar St., N. Wood St., E. Logan St. and N. Church St. in an amount not to exceed $973,262.79 which includes the base bid of $883,262.79 and a contingency amount of $90,000.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• A request for competitive sealed proposals (RFCSP 17-51CC) was issued on March 26, 2017.
• Two firms submitted proposals on April 13, 2017.
• North Rock Construction, LLC. has submitted a combined proposal in the amount of $883,262.79 for both downtown parking projects.
• North Rock Construction, LLC. is a North Texas construction firm with corporate offices located in Denton, TX. Recent projects in the City of McKinney include Comegy’s Creek Hike & Bike Trail, Wilson Creek Hike & Bike Trail and Sonntag Neighborhood park. Current employees of this firm, through a previous employer, managed City of McKinney projects including the Al Ruschhaupt park renovation involving parking lot expansion and a hike and bike trail, the parking lot expansion at the Public Safety building and the parking lot expansion at the John and Judy Gay Library.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• Funding for this project is available in the Capital Improvements Program in FC1611.
