RECOMMEND CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Approval of the Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• This resolution authorizes a supplemental agreement with LJA Engineering Inc, of McKinney, Texas, for professional planning and engineering services for Grady Littlejohn Softball & Baseball Complex at Towne Lake (PK2448), for an increase in the not to exceed from $250,000 to a total aggregate contract amount, inclusive of any supplemental agreements, not to exceed $305,000.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• LJA Engineering is currently under contract with the City for design and construction administration services related to the Grady Littlejohn Softball & Baseball Complex at Towne Lake Project.
• As the project progressed, the scope and budget increased to include additional concrete replacement and ADA-compliant dugout seating.
• Additional services that were not in LJA’s original contract are required to further the construction documentation as a result of the project scope increase.
• LJA Engineering submitted a proposal for $51,995 for these additional services ($297,460 aggregate contract total), which has been reviewed by staff and exceeds the previously authorized not to exceed amount of $250,000.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• The Resolution authorizes a supplemental agreement with LJA Engineering for an increase in the not to exceed contract amount from $250,000 to a total aggregate contract amount, inclusive of any additional supplemental agreements, not to exceed $305,000.
• The Grady Littlejohn Softball & Baseball Complex at Towne Lake Project (PK2448) is a FY25-26 Capital Improvements Program project funded by Bonds, MCDC and Parkland Dedication funds. Additional funding for construction has been identified in PK4393 Towne Lake District.
• With the approval of this item, $1,403,857 will remain in PK2448.
