ITEM SUMMARY:
• The Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a grant agreement with Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) for McKinney National Airport Project AI2114, Taxilane A Realignment and Rehabilitation Phase I.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The proposed scope of work for Phase I will consist primarily of:
o The removal of Taxiway B3
o The construction of Taxiway A3
o The relocation of Taxilane A’s centerline 68 feet to the east
o The construction of additional aircraft parking apron
• The removal of Taxiway B3 and the construction of Taxiway A3 will address the safety issue of direct connection from the apron to the runway identified by the FAA.
• The relocation of Taxilane A’s centerline to the east will allow for additional aircraft parking apron between the fire lane and the Taxilane A Object Free Area.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• Texas Department of Transportation will provide funding for Phase I in the amount of $6,429,923 and administer $2,207,017 in IIJA funds. The City of McKinney will be responsible for the 10% match of $959,690.
• Funding for the City of McKinney’s match is appropriated in the Capital Improvement Program Project AI2114, Taxilane A Realignment & Rehabilitation.
• A budget amendment to fund project AI2114, Taxilane A Realignment and Rehabilitation Phase I, is presented as a companion item on this agenda.
