RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:                     

                     Approval of the Resolution.

ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a Professional Services Agreement to provide Construction Materials Testing services related to the new McKinney Fire Department Headquarters (FDHQ) located at 2100 Taylor Burk Drive, McKinney, Texas.

                     Alliance has submitted a proposal to provide professional CMT services for the Fire Department Headquarters for a fee of $328,340.00. 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     The City of McKinney issued a request for qualifications (RFQ) for miscellaneous geotechnical and materials testing services (21-18RFQ).  Of the twenty-four (24) firms that submitted a statement of qualifications, Alliance was one of the five (5) firms which were determined to be the most qualified in the selection.

                     Alliance is a professional geotechnical and construction materials testing firm based in Frisco, Texas and has been the CMT provider of record on multiple successful City of McKinney projects. 

FINANCIAL SUMMARY: 

                     The Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a Professional Services Agreement for CMT services, including potential changes to the scope of services, with Alliance Geotechnical Group for an amount not to exceed $358,340.00 which includes a contingency of $30,000.00.

                     Funds for these services are available in the Fire Department Headquarters Project No. FI2111.

                     Additional funding will be made available by a GO bond issuance planned in Spring 2024.
