RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Approval of the Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• The selected consultant team, Terracon Consultants, Inc. submitted a proposal to provide additional Construction Materials Observation, Engineering and Testing services for the McKinney National Airport Commercial Terminal Project in the amount of Sixty-four Thousand, Nine Hundred Seventy-Three and No/100 Dollars, ($64,973.00).
• This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a change order to the professional services agreement with Terracon Consultants, Inc. to provide additional Construction Materials Observation, Engineering and Testing services related to the McKinney National Airport Commercial Terminal (MNACT) Project.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The City of McKinney issued a request for qualifications (RFQ) for miscellaneous geotechnical and materials testing services (21-18RFQ). Of the twenty-four (24) firms that submitted a statement of qualifications, Terracon was one of the five (5) firms which were determined to be the most qualified in the selection.
• City Council authorized a professional services agreement with Terracon for an amount not to exceed $375,179 and an additional services agreement #001 not to exceed $158,521.50. This resolution is for additional services agreement #002 for the not to exceed amount of $70,973.
• Terracon owns, operates, and maintains one of the largest networks of accredited and validated labs of any geotechnical engineering firm in the U.S. and has successfully completed multiple City of McKinney projects and thousands of successful projects with other entities.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• The McKinney National Airport Commercial Terminal is a CIP project with funds available in Project AI2250.
• The Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a change order to the professional services agreement with Terracon Consultants, Inc. for Construction Materials Observation, Engineering and Testing services for the McKinney National Airport Commercial Terminal Project for a total amount not to exceed Seventy Thousand, Nine Hundred Seventy-Three and No/100 Dollars, ($70,973.00) which includes an owner’s contingency of Six Thousand and No/100 Dollars, ($6,000.00).
• Upon approval of this item, $1,625,908 will remain within Project AI2250.
