ITEM SUMMARY:

•                     The applicant requests an economic development grant from TIRZ 1 in support of environmental remediation, historic façade restoration improvements, and critical maintenance project at 113 S Tennessee. The request is as follows:

o                     The applicant is requesting $50,589.81 in TIRZ funding to offset the cost of the environmental remediation, historic façade restoration improvements, and critical maintenance project.

§                     3 new energy efficient windows

§                     Plumbing, electrical repairs, flooring, and roofing

o                     The applicant completed the work before submitting the request for funding, which is the reason for a lack of multiple bids. Additionally, the applicant acted as the primary contractor and is ready to discuss the cost of each part of the project.

o                     The total cost of the full project was $88,118.43. The applicant is requesting the full amount of the environmental remediation and façade restoration expenses and a 50/50 match of the critical maintenance costs.

•                     The proposed project is an eligible project in the TIRZ 1 Project Plan under the category of Vacant/Underutilized Sites/Buildings, with eligible expenditures in the categories of environmental remediation, critical maintenance, and façade renovation.

FINANCIAL SUMMARY:

•                     The applicant is requesting $50,589.81 in TIRZ funding as follows:

•                     Additionally, a financial forecast for the TIRZ 1 fund balance is attached to provide a comprehensive view and provide broader context of the current and anticipated fund balance through FY31 to aid board members as funding requests are considered.
