ITEM SUMMARY:
• This resolution authorizes an additional services agreement with Teague Nall and Perkins, Inc. (TNP) to provide additional professional architectural and engineering services for the design of the Erwin Park Improvements Project (PK9143), for an increase in the not to exceed from $570,000 to a total aggregate contract amount, inclusive of any supplemental agreements, not to exceed $670,000.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• TNP is currently under contract with the City for design and construction administration services related to the Erwin Park Improvements Project. The current scope includes the design of new restroom facilities, pavilions, park entry, looped hike and bike trail, power and water to all campsites, resurfaced park roads, sanitary sewer, and site furnishings.
• As design on the project has progressed, additional services are required to expand the design scope to include further surveying, engineering, environmental, and landscape architecture services for the design of a sanitary sewer aerial crossing and an accessible playground, and to conduct a dam breach analysis which were not included in TNP’s original contract.
• TNP submitted a proposal for $90,225 for these additional services ($658,335 aggregate contract total), which has been reviewed by staff and exceeds the previously authorized not to exceed amount of $570,000.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• The Resolution authorizes a supplemental agreement with TNP for an increase in the not to exceed contract amount from $570,000 to a total aggregate contract amount, inclusive of any additional supplemental agreements, not to exceed $670,000.
• Erwin Park Improvements Project (PK9143) is a FY24-25 Capital Improvements Program project funded by MCDC and Parkland Dedication funds.
• With the approval of this item, $8,316,197 will remain in PK9143.
BOARD OR COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
The Park Board will be briefed on this item at the December 12, 2024 Park Board meeting.
