ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     McKinney Community Development Corporation will conduct a public hearing on a Retail Development Infrastructure Grant submitted by Sugar Rush Holdings (dba Cami Cakes) for $25,332 for relocation of a grease trap.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     Cami Cakes has been in business since 2006 and has stores in Florida and Georgia. The location in McKinney opened in July of 2024.

                     The bakery specializes in gourmet cupcakes, layer cakes and ice creams.

                     The mission is to “create happiness on cupcake at a time” by providing quality food and service in a friendly atmosphere while preserving customer trust and confidence.

 

 FINANCIAL SUMMARY: 

                     Funds allocated for MCDC Retail Development Infrastructure Grants total $300,000 ($150,000 for each of 2 cycles).

                     In FY 2024, Sugar Rush Holdings was awarded a Retail Development Infrastructure Grant in an amount of $33,127.25 for installation of a grease trap at site of their new bakery in McKinney.

                     The request is eligible for MCDC consideration under Section 501.152 of the Texas Local Government Code - definition of “project.”
