ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     McKinney Community Development Corporation will conduct a public hearing on a Retail Development Infrastructure grant application submitted by Kelly’s Art Shack for exterior site improvements including drainage and security enhancements.

                     Project elements include new gutters and downspouts to improve storm drainage and prevent internal flooding, and gates and masonry fencing to create an outdoor space and enhance security.

                     The addition of this outdoor footprint will support expansion and allow Kelly’s to provide events for more clients and to provide opportunities for more participants.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     Kelly’s Art Shack was founded in 2018 and has become a vibrant hub of creativity and community engagement.

                     Their mission is to foster a space where artistic expression flourishes, events come to life and the community is wove into the very fabric of its existence.

 

 FINANCIAL SUMMARY: 

                     Funds allocated for MCDC Retail Development Infrastructure Grants total $300,000. Maximum award for any single grant is $50,000.

                     This is the first time Kelly’s Art Shack has requested funding from MCDC.

                     The request is eligible for MCDC consideration under Section 501.103 of the Texas Local Government Code
