RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Approval of the Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a contract in the amount of $194,915.00 as well as all required supplemental agreements thereto, with Studio Outside, LLC for professional landscape architectural services for the E.A. Randles Improvement Project (PK1831- Park Updates), with a not to exceed amount of $221,415.00.
• A contingency of $26,500 allows for the optional additional services to be completed if needed.
• The E.A. Randles Park Improvements are planned to include a new play structure, splash pad, pavilion, refurbished basketball court, ADA accessibility, new parking, irrigation improvements, entry signage, and site furnishings.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• Studio Outside, LLC, was selected from a list of pre-qualified landscape architectural firms that Council approved on June 18, 2019.
• The 30-acre neighborhood park currently provides a playground, picnic shelter, and athletic fields.
• E.A. Randles Park is located at 5400 Cedar Elm in McKinney, TX
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• This Resolution authorizes a design contract and any necessary supplemental agreements with Studio Outside, LLC for an amount not to exceed $221,415.00.
• Upon approval of this item as well as two other items on this agenda that are utilizing funds from PK1831, $6,007,607.03 remains in the project.
• E.A. Randles Park Improvements (PK1831 - Park Updates) is a FY 21-22 Capital Improvements Program funded by MCDC funds, bond monies and parkland dedication contributions.
BOARD OR COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
• The Parks, Recreation & Open Space Advisory Board unanimously recommended approval of this item at their December 9th meeting.
