ITEM SUMMARY:  
•                     Boys and Girls Clubs of Collin County is requesting $70,000.00 for facility improvements to include updating basketball goals, installing indoor turf for soccer and flag football, purchase and installation of a sound system and projector, and purchase of a mobile stage.
•                     Through these improvements, BGCCC aims to enhance athletic programming and event experiences at the McKinney Club. 
•                     Athletic upgrades will ensure safe play and expand sports programs.
•                     The sound system and projection screen will keep parents and audiences engaged and informed during sports activities and awards events.
•                     The mobile stage will provide a platform to highlight and acknowledge youth participation during athletic award ceremonies, further fostering a sense of achievement and recognition.
 
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:  
•                     Boys and Girls Clubs of Collin County has a 50-year history in North Texas.
•                     Strategically located in low-income neighborhoods, BGCCC provides a safe, positive environment during after-school hours.
•                     The BGCCC serves more than 1,700 registered members and works with other local nonprofit organizations to identify youth that need assistance.
•                     They offer an affordable, safe and nurturing environment with programs and activities that assist youth in their educational, emotional, physical and social development.
 
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
•                     If approved by the Board, this item will be funded from MCDC’s Community Grants budget.
•                     The request is eligible for MCDC consideration under Section 505.152 of the Texas Local Government Code.
