ITEM SUMMARY:

This 8-acre neighborhood park is located within the Trinity Falls development.

The park is under construction and needs to be named in order to finalize the wording for the monument signage.

The City’s naming policy requires that the Park Board provide a name or names to the City Council for consideration, in accordance with the guidelines set forth by City Council.

Generally, a name(s) should be selected based on the following: Outstanding and/or predominant geographical or physical features of the land; Outstanding and/or predominant historical features of significance; Contributions of land for a park site; or in honor of a community/state leader or hero.

The recommended name for this park is Forest Ridge Park, due to the existing grove of nearby mature trees.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

This is a park that is required per the Trinity Falls Development Agreement and in satisfaction of the city’s parkland dedication ordinance.

This is the first of three neighborhood parks that Trinity Falls is required to construct.  Once completed, the park will be owned by the City but maintained by the Trinity Falls MUD.

This park is adjacent to Frazier Elementary School and will contain a trail, pavilion, two pickleball courts, a half basketball court, parking, landscaping and open space.
