RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Approval of Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a contract in the amount of $99,940.00, as well as all required supplemental agreements thereto, with Alliance Geotechnical group, Inc. for geotechnical and materials testing services for the construction of the Honey Creek Sanitary Sewer Trunk Main Project (CIP Project WW1638), for a total contract amount, inclusive of any supplemental agreements, not to exceed $110,000.00.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• A concurrent item is included on the Council Agenda recommending award of a construction contract for the Honey Creek Sanitary Sewer Trunk Main Project (CIP Project WW1638).
• Materials testing services will be required on the project to ensure construction materials used by the contractor meet or exceed City requirements.
• Alliance Geotechnical group, Inc. submitted a response to 24-13RFQ for On-call Miscellaneous Geotechnical and Materials Testing Services. Alliance Geotechnical group was one of six (6) firms shortlisted by City Council on March 5, 2024.
• Alliance Geotechnical group, Inc. has successfully performed in a similar capacity on numerous City projects.
• Alliance Geotechnical group, Inc. submitted a proposal to provide geotechnical and materials testing services for the construction of the project in the amount of $99,940.00 which has been reviewed by staff and is recommended for approval.
• Reimbursement for materials testing services provided will be made based on actual time and materials billing in amount not to exceed the estimated proposal amount.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• This Resolution authorizes a contract and all necessary change orders with Alliance Geotechnical group, Inc. for an amount not to exceed of $110,00.00.
• With the approval of this item and the accompanying construction contract, $2,744,606 will remain in WW1638.
