RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Approval of the Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute a contract in the amount of $422,420, as well as all required supplemental agreements thereto, with Alliance Geotechnical Group for geotechnical and materials testing services for the construction of the McKinney Soccer Complex Renovation Project (PK1906), for a total contract amount, inclusive of any supplemental agreements, not to exceed $450,000.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• A concurrent item is included on the Council Agenda recommending award of a construction contract for the McKinney Soccer Complex Renovation Project.
• Materials testing services will be required on the project to ensure construction materials used by the contractor meet or exceed City requirements.
• Alliance Geotechnical Group submitted a response to 24-13RFQ for On-call Miscellaneous Geotechnical and Materials Testing Services. Alliance was one of six firms shortlisted by City Council on March 5, 2024.
• Alliance Geotechnical Group has successfully performed in a similar capacity on numerous City projects.
• Alliance Geotechnical Group has submitted a proposal to provide geotechnical and materials testing services in the amount of $422,420 which has been reviewed by staff and is recommended for approval.
• Reimbursement for materials testing services provided will be made based on actual time and materials billing in an amount not to exceed the estimated proposal amount.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• The Resolution authorizes a contract and all necessary supplemental agreements with Alliance Geotechnical Group for an amount not to exceed $450,000.
• Funds are available in the Capital Improvements Program Project PK1906.
• With the approval of this item and the accompanying construction contract, the following $16,672 will remain in PK1906.
